In 1809, The Adamawa Emirate was founded by Modibbo Adama, A disciple of Shehu Usman Danfodio and is located in Fombina, an area which now roughly corresponds to areas of Adamawa State and Taraba state in Nigeria, and previously also in the three northern provinces of Cameroon, including minor Parts of Chad and the Central African Republic. The Turaki title is one of the oldest titles in Adamawa Emirate and is always given to trusted people that are close to the Emirate. The Challenge Fund for Youth Employment (CFYE) is a 7-year programme funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Fund is managed by the Palladium Group, Randstad and VSO. The Fund aims to create a prosperous future for 230,000 young women and men in the Middle East, North Africa, Sahel & West Africa and Horn of Africa. This will be achieved by supporting youth employment initiatives in these regions. Intersos, EU Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Documentary
Due to insecurity, large number of Internal Displaced Persons (IDPs) have been arriving Ngala and Monguno IDP camps in Borno, Northeast Nigeria. With the generous support from EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid (ECHO), European Union in Nigeria, Intersos has been operating Reception Centres in IDP Camps in both Ngala and Monguno LGA, Borno, Nigeria. The reception centre provide an interim refuge for the IDPs before they are settled in camps. Intersos provides multi-sectoral services for them, including CCCM which verifies and registers the new arrivals and informing them about the services at the reception centre. Their health team provides screening of health and nutrition status, first-aid, with referral for medical treatment. Their Protection team conducts protection assessment, vulnerability screening and referral of GBV/SGBV issues.
